Cotswolds, England
The Cotswolds is an area in south central England containing the Cotswold Hills, these are a range of rolling hills that stretch from northern Wiltshire to southern Warwickshire. The resulting valleys lend themselves well to producing traditionally high birds.
This famous area of the British countryside is renowned for its honey coloured stone, historic market towns and impressive stately homes. It provides a stunning backdrop to many picturesque sporting estates.
The shoots in this district are usually privately run family estates, where guns meet at the main house and are often hosted by the owners themselves. The days, therefore, have a much more personal rather than commercial feel to them and teams are often invited to have lunch in the main house.
Guns will find a generous mix of pheasants and partridges which are produced over a variety of steep wooded valleys and well positioned game crops.
Situated within easy reach of London (approximately an hour and a half from Paddington Station), the Cotswolds provide an attractive proposition for London based teams and also visiting clients. There is a great range of accommodation available to suit everyone’s tastes, from traditional private houses, classic country inns to luxury hotels.
